Locate.MBX - A MapInfo GPS location
and navigational aide.
The Locate MapBasic Utility offers GPS users an efficient means to
display within MapInfo, GPS points collected in the field as well as
extract from MapInfo coordinates to use as waypoints for GPS
navigation. The Locate program may be used as a navigational aide,
allowing the user to plot points on the map together with accurate
coordinate details in a variety of formats. Using the Coordinate Label
Definition screen the user selects the format to use in displaying
coordinates, the coordinate/projection to use, the symbol to create for
the position and the desired font.

Once these preferences
have been established the user simply uses the mouse to place TIC marks
on MapInfo’s cosmetic layer together with the accurate coordinate
details in the selected format:
