A rugged and inexpensive GPS receiver with the features, power, and capabilities to work in, and integrate with a GIS department.    The Earthmate GPS PN-40 comes standard with USGS based, topographic data.  A new $29.95 annual subscription service offers unlimited downloads of USGS topographic quads, aerial photography, satellite imagery and NOAA charts.   With the addition of the XMap software bundle or the new ESRI GPS Extension, the unit is capable of eaisly using your GIS data (ArcGIS, MapInfo, AutoCAD) as a base layer, and incorporate any .sid or GeoTiff image.  Field access to GIS data is virtually unlimited and cost effective.
